About Me

Being human is hard. In addition to daily challenges, many of us weren’t shown how to feel and express our emotions, or how to communicate effectively with others. We may not have learned what healthy love looks and feels like, or how to care for and accept ourselves—because often, our caregivers hadn’t learned how to either. As a result, we often find ourselves experiencing painful emotions such as shame, anger, longing, worry, or hopelessness. Therapy is an opportunity to explore our experiences with curiosity and kindness, allowing us to gain insight into, make meaning of, and heal from the burdens we carry.

As a therapist, my goal is to create a compassionate and validating atmosphere in which the client feels safe to explore themselves and share their findings. I incorporate several treatment modalities, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), existential psychotherapy, exposure and response prevention (ERP), and mindfulness. My work is also informed by attachment theory, nonviolent communication, and my background in creative writing and literature.

I view my clients from an intersectional lens, understanding that we contain unique histories and experiences. This is why I believe treatment is as unique as the individual. My job is to listen and ask questions as you explore what you feel and what you need, and together we will address whatever barriers stand in the way.

I received my MS in Mental Health Counseling from Queens College in 2020, an MFA in Creative Writing and Literature from Stony Brook Southampton (2015), and a BA in Psychology from Hofstra University (2005). I have also received training in Nonviolent Communication from the New York Center for Nonviolent Communication.

I encourage you to reach out via email or phone and see whether I’m the right fit for you. I look forward to connecting.
